When mine isn't being a git it is up and running in 3 seconds so in the same ballpark as yours and maybe that's why the 40 or 50 seconds it takes when it is messing about feels like a lifetime. I had no popups just now after launch or exit from 2020.

You are right though, it's not easy to stop all the upgrade popups on launch and exit for the first time in a day, if there is a newer version or special offers - but you can. I did have problems with PSP 2018 on my other PC but 2020 is fine on both. PSP 2020 loads up and is ready for use in 4 seconds on my PC, I find that to be fine (2018 takes 6s). It's got a little too invasive for my liking. I think some issues might be that every time you open the newer versions of PSP they check for product updates (to sell to you) and even without opening PSP can give 'pop up' alerts to tempt you to upgrade. I've had several of the last few versions of PSP and yet I still mostly use PSP 7.02 from 2001 as it loads up in a second or two and just works, no nonsense and lag which sadly cannot be said of the last 3 versions of PSP I have purchased. I can only assume it cannot work out if it has an internet connection or not and disconnecting makes it think right start in offline mode.

I have already said in this thread it is a bought and paid for version, i took up the offer of 2020 with Video studio Pro 2019 for £39.99, my 2019, X9, X8, X6 and version 6 were also all bought and paid for and all the products are registered and show up in my Corel account, this has only happened with the 20 versions.Īs i mentioned earlier it does load it just takes a dogs age and the quickest way to make it work is to disconnect, as soon as you disconnect it loads. If that's happened to you, there may be no solution other than reporting it to Corel support and engaging with them, or sticking with an earlier version for certain things (you can have multiple versions installed on the same PC and OS). Even when it eventually loaded, some functions would take forever to work - such as the erase button.

The problem as far as I could determine was something to do with it trying to 'phone home' to check for whatever, and I concluded that there's something odd about the phone home code that could occasionally affect useability on certain PC configurations. Since upgrading to PSP 2020 I have had no similar issues on any of my 6 PC/OS combinations. After extensive investigation and trying everything under the sun including uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling, suspending AV, I went back to PSP X8 and it was fine. What gets me is that (again assuming that your copy is legit) the only similar issue I have encountered or read about with PSP (2018 in my case but only on one particular PC and OS) is of slowness to load up without an internet connection. Tried it but will try again with the 2020 version, i have also tried resetting all windows network connections
